Yes Cam I think this is the kind of thorny comments we need to get on the goverment's nerves instead of fooling around futile Tibet issues. For ages these horrendous man-made disasters happened almost every day in China that I am shamed of my country. I followed the publicized death tolls for a long time and my conclusion is China is no safer than the war torn Iraq to live in. At least 300,000 of my compatriots die every year unnaturally due to poor social management in these disasters, which means we have a Nanjing massacre EVERY year. What a country! I call that bureaucratic terrorism! And it makes one sadder to notice people feeling number about the cruel fact. So I urge media all around the world, in and out of China, online or offline, fiercely chastize this rigidly incompetent government and force it to initiate real political reform. Yes, forget the Olympic glamour which is basically a political show. Stop talking "harmonious society" which blurs right and wrong. Promote civil rights and citizenship now, that's the therapy for disaster-plagued China. The CPC is getting desperate and losing control. A formalistic party rectification will change nothing. A grandfatherly premier will change little. It's time for Hu to modernize his totalian party before it's too late.
