It took Coke decades to become a household name in China, it will also take some time for wine, if not on 10-year-basis.
Winery visitation is NOT common in the west, even wine tasting itself belongs to a self-indulgence niche market in the west, at least not for the general public (if you wanna argue this statistically, I recommend that you could read some tourism research reports from the anglo-american points of view which I am sure you will share the sense of belonging with.) And again, one argument, why ordinary Chinese should abandon its own abundant beverages to cherish wine, a western import, which you feel strong attachment with? Last, DON'T take the world around you for granted, your decades long schooling, I am sure, didn't educate you to be ethnocentric. |
