Jason was born and raised in the United States, outside of Cleveland, Ohio. He studied business and creative writing at Hiram College before moving to Asia at the age of 22. For the past 4 years, dividing his time between Osaka, Beijing, and Shanghai, language study has been at the center of Jason's life. As both student and teacher, the struggle to properly communicate challenged him in ways he had never predicted, and even took control of his life. In Shanghai, Jason left the classroom to begin a career path as erratic as developing China: After working for an online news site and a Japanese consulting company, he's now a full time assistant in a large art studio outside of Shanghai. On Zhongnanhai, he is excited to return to his roots:  English and writing.
