Zhongnanhai is a blog portal that serves English-speaking readers seeking news, information, analysis, and opinion about China.  It was founded as a simple blog on the Blogsome platform in May 2007.  In August, it emerged from Blogsome (and from behind the Great Firewall) to move to its own domain.  As a result of strong feedback from our readers we expanded our coverage, added contributors, and launched the current design on May 24, 2008.

Zhongnanhai aims to provide information about, and from, China.  Our contributors are all based in China – in some cases for many years.  We have all grown to love the country, its history, culture, and the people, and feel more information about China needs to be shared with western audiences.  More information on each of our contributors can be found here.
